With Spring in full swing here in Vacaville, we have been deep cleaning and organizing our studio from top to bottom, including our client files and galleries.

As I looked through all of my senior portrait sessions from the past couple of years, I started noticing a theme: pictures of moms and daughters hugging, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company. I didn't realize just how many times I had asked mom to jump in a few pictures at her daughter's senior session.

Getting pictures of my seniors with their moms isn’t part of the “package” or something I promise my clients I’ll get. It just happens. I can’t help it.

With Mother’s Day right around the corner, I’ve been searching for photos of my own mother and grandmother, and to be honest - I wish I had more. A lot more.

I think one of the reasons I always end up asking the moms to jump in for a few frames at my senior sessions is to make sure no one else looks back during that time of their life and wishes for the pictures they could have had. The day of their session is a lot of fun; a day that I know will be a great memory for them - and I want to make sure they have photos together to remember it.

Now going into our full blown “senior season”, one of the goals I hope to achieve with all of my class of 2019 senior clients is capturing each of them with their mother. Even if just for one image. One moment.

In celebration of all moms and everything they give to their families day in and day out, here’s just a handful of some of the loving, funny, strong, and beautiful moms that I have had the honor of photographing. Happy Mother’s Day!
