Meet Our Summer Intern, Maddy!
Starting today, I'll be featuring one of our interns each day here on the blog for all of you to get to know! We have seven interns in total this summer and I can't wait for you to meet each of them.
First up is Maddy! She has already been such a great asset to the Brianna Gamble Photography team and I've had fun getting to know her so far. Maddy is dedicated to her schoolwork, her family and her future career goals and is always ready to learn. Take it away Maddy!
Where are you from?
Tell us a little about yourself!
I am 17 years old and I will be a senior next year at Vanden High School. At school, I am Vice President of the Friday Night Club as well as a member of the Academic Decathlon Team. Outside of school I dedicate my time to the Solano Youth Coalition and working at Round Table Pizza in Winters. My favorite hobbies of all time are soccer, painting and of course, photography!
What do you love about photography?
I see photography as an art that doesn’t just capture something or someone’s physical beauty, but the beauty that is portrayed or what they choose to portray through the lens.
What are you passionate about?
Art is a huge part of my life and I wouldn’t be able to live without the ability to express my creativity. My idea of art is anything from painting and drawing to makeup, fashion and photography.
What are some small things that make your day better?
Showers, coffee and breakfast, having a plan for the day, and being fashionably but comfortably dressed are all things that can make my day better.
What’s the last adventure you went on?
The last adventure I went on was exploring Putah Creek in Winters with my family and friends.
What is your favorite food?
What is something that no one knows about you?
My father is ethnically Belgian but he grew up in Brazil most of his childhood. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and partly in Portuguese and French.
Favorite thing to do on a beautiful day?
Have brunch at Putah Creek Cafe in Winters.
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
I'm a complete night owl!
Starbucks or Dutch Bros?
What are you excited about in the next 12 months?
I am excited to finally graduate high school and hopefully get accepted to University of Reno, California where I can begin to pursue my career as a psychologist.
What are you grateful for right now?
I am grateful to have the opportunity to experience this internship, learn new things, as well as meet new people and work with a great team. I am and always will be thankful for my friends in family for always supporting me in whatever I do.
