Preteen years can be difficult, awkward, and filled with uncertainty. Between peer pressure, bullying, independence struggles, puberty and mean girls, being a tween (and raising one) can be tumultuous. The main goal of this campaign is to make tweens look and feel beautiful and be confident in who they are. I want to not only give them the opportunity to see the beauty in themselves that their loved ones see, but to help them understand that they are important, unique and loved.
This project is a documentary portrait experience for girls ages 9-13 to find their inner confidence, celebrate what makes them unique, and inspire a deeper sense of self worth. The main goal is to make preteens look and feel beautiful and be confident in who they are. I want to not only give them the opportunity to see the beauty in themselves that their loved ones see, but to help them understand that they are important, unique and loved.
Your "Who I Am" portrait experience will follow these 3 simple steps!
Your daughter's portrait session will be a blast! Make sure to read this entire Session Prep Guide thoroughly for all of the information regarding her "Who I Am" Portrait Session, including what to wear and what to expect.
The day after your session, you will receive an email from us containing a link to schedule your viewing and ordering appointment. This will be your first look at your beautiful photos!
At this appointment, you will be choosing which image you would like for your complimentary 5x7 gift print. You may also choose to order more images at this time - which most clients do. (I can almost guarantee you won't be able to leave with just one!)
This shoot is all about capturing your tween's personality at such a pivotal age, so it's important to the wear outfits that embrace their spirit the most. Your daughter will be shot in two outfits, so be sure to bring 3-4 outfits to choose from. If they don't typically dress up or do their hair & makeup, please do not have them do so for the shoot. This is meant to be a shoot that embraces who your tween is and what they love, so make sure to bring outfits that reflect that. Comfortable and confident is the goal!
These sessions are full of laughter, fun, and self discovery. There are no rules on what props can be included in their session. They can bring their ballet shoes, skateboard, headphones - anything they want! If they love pizza - bring a pizza! There are no limits to how creative you can be. Don't stress yourself out over this part. Any simple things from home that encompass your tween's personality will do. This shoot should be FUN!
